The Gold Coast Marathon is always a highlight of the year, and this year’s event was no exception. With thousands of participants from all over, the spirit of competition and camaraderie was palpable. Among the sea of enthusiastic runners, Surfit proudly cheered on their own squad of dedicated athletes.

For the past few months, the air around Surfit has been filled with a renewed sense of purpose and determination. Each Tuesday morning, before the sun had even considered rising, a committed group of runners gathered for their weekly training with the Surfit Outdoor Run Club. Their hard work and dedication culminated in an impressive showing at the marathon, where all their efforts paid off spectacularly.

The 10km Heroes

Under the guidance of Marcelo Knez, the coach and organiser of the group, our Surfit Members tackled the 10km run with enthusiasm and dedication. Marcelo’s strategic training plans and motivational leadership played a crucial role in the team’s success.
Linda Beaumont, Katrina Philips, Alisa Saville, Rosalyn Orlanno, Nat Fraser, Lizzy Gray and Clare Ingram each brought their unique energy and enthusiasm to the race. Their collective spirit and mutual support were evident as they ran, pushing each other to achieve their best. Each member showcased the power of teamwork and the importance of community in achieving fitness goals.

The 10km race was more than just a test of physical endurance for this group; it was a celebration of their hard work, perseverance, and the bonds they formed along the way. Their collective achievement is a testament to what can be accomplished when a team comes together with a shared goal.
